Hello, my name is Louise, and I am a fully qualified therapist specialising in couples and individual counselling. I hold a degree in counselling, a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and an accreditation with the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)
I bring over 20 years of frontline experience in the emergency services, along with a deep passion for counselling and a wealth of lived experience. In every session, I bring my authentic self and genuinely care about helping clients. Whether I am guiding couples to strengthen their relationship or supporting them through an amicable separation, I create a space where both individuals feel heard, supported, and validated.
Relationships often present challenges, and managing them isn’t something we’re taught in school. If you and your partner feel stuck in repetitive arguments, struggle with trust, or feel disconnected, it can be overwhelming. I help couples and individuals overcome these challenges in a supportive and straightforward way. My approach creates a safe space for both of you to feel understood. Together, we will address your concerns and work toward a resolution that strengthens your connection.
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach because every couple is unique. That’s why I use a combination of practical tools, open and honest conversations, and creative techniques to help you reconnect, improve communication, and move forward together.
I’ve worked with many couples navigating difficult times—whether they’re struggling to communicate, rebuilding trust after infidelity, or dealing with the impact of past trauma, addiction, or ongoing conflict. Relationships can stir up a range of emotions, and often, patterns from our pasts influence how we connect with our partners today.
With extensive training in areas such as addiction, neurodivergence in couples, infidelity, trauma, communication, and inner child work, I help couples uncover what’s really happening beneath the surface. Together, we work on practical tools you can carry forward into the future. My approach is straightforward, supportive, down-to-earth, and occasionally creative—because not everything can be resolved through talking alone!
I offer both face to face and sessions online via Zoom in a peaceful setting. I create a relaxed and welcoming environment—always with a cup of coffee and a biscuit on hand—where you can feel comfortable opening up.
Before becoming a counsellor, I spent 20 years on the front lines of emergency services, supporting individuals in crisis and witnessing the profound impact of trauma, addiction, and mental health challenges on both individuals and their relationships. I have also worked in rehabilitation settings, helping people recover from addiction, rebuild trust, manage shame, and develop healthier coping strategies. Additionally, I have mentored and supported individuals with ADHD, gaining a deep understanding of how neurodivergence can affect emotional regulation, relationships, and self-esteem.
Alongside my professional experience, I bring something equally valuable—lived experience. I’m not just trained to understand trauma; I’ve lived it. As a survivor, I know what it’s like to feel lost, question your worth, and carry the weight of past struggles. I also know that healing is possible.
As a sober, neurodivergent counsellor, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I understand first-hand the challenges of addiction, the toll it takes on relationships, and the transformative journey of recovery. My approach isn’t just rooted in theory—it’s grounded in real, compassionate, and down-to-earth support from someone who truly understands.
