About Steve
Hello, my name is Steve Bennett, and I am a mature, fully qualified Psychotherapeutic Therapist for couples and individuals. I’m a member of BACP and an accredited member of NCPS. I’m also a qualified supervisor for other therapists and a trained mediator.
The therapy I provide is tailored to each person and couple. My role is to help you explore the problems you are experiencing in your relationship in a safe, non-judgemental space. I’m impartial, which means I ensure both of you are heard equally.
Whether you’re looking for help to make your relationship stronger or to separate with greater understanding, I can support you. The main aim of couples therapy is to improve communication so that you both gain a clearer understanding of yourselves and each other. I’ll walk alongside you through the tough times, encouraging positive steps forward.

Background & Experience
I am a married father with broad life experience, having worked in roles such as factory work, telecoms engineering, mentoring, and teaching in a secondary school. I’ve also worked as a personal advisor for young people aged 16–23 and in the field of domestic abuse.
These varied experiences have given me valuable insight into people’s lives and relationships, which I bring into my private practice as a therapist. Alongside ongoing professional development and supervision, my aim is to provide therapy that is warm, supportive, and effective in helping couples and individuals move forward.
How I Can Help
I’m told I’m easy to talk to. I’ll listen closely to understand what’s going on between you and reflect it back in a way that opens the door to change.
I’ll help you communicate more effectively while making sure you both feel heard and understood at all times.
I’m warm, impartial, and approachable, and I’ll ensure there’s always a balance of power in our sessions.
We’ll work together to develop skills so conversations don’t escalate into conflict, giving you tools to handle differences constructively.
I provide a safe, comfortable, and non-judgemental space where you can share thoughts, feelings, and vulnerabilities with respect.
