    About Lynn

Hello, my name is Lynn Gand Im a fully qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT/REBT) and Couples Counsellor based at Relationship Counselling Kent’s Ashford (Egerton) practice. I hold a PGDip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have over five years’ experience helping couples and individuals make positive changes.

I understand that relationships can go through tough times that leave you feeling hurt, misunderstood, or disconnected. My role is to create a calm, supportive space where you can step back, gain clarity, and begin to move forward.

At the start, we’ll explore what you both want from therapy, whether that’s rebuilding your relationship, separating more amicably, or simply finding clarity. I’ll tailor our sessions to suit your needs, using a down-to-earth and practical style, with CBT tools where helpful, to gently challenge unhelpful patterns and support change.

    Background & Experience

Prior to qualifying as a CBT therapist and Couples Counsellor I taught adult literacy and numeracy for a number of Years. This was within Adult Education and the prison service. I hold an NVQ qualification in training and development. It became apparent to me, during this time, that students often had more barriers to learning than just poor education or lack of schooling. Confidence and the anxiety of being judged negatively, were obstacles that needed to be addressed and overcome, before any real learning could take place. This led me to choosing to retrain to become a therapist.

I also volunteered for a number of years for the ‘Silverline Charity’ as a telephone friend to lonely, older people. Eventually, I trained as an instructor for new volunteers and found this experience immensely rewarding.
