    About Claire

Hello, my name is Claire and I'm a highly experienced couples counsellor. I'm also a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist, CPCAB Level 4 Diploma trained, and a registered member of the BACP.

I understand that starting counselling can feel daunting, especially if you are unsure what to expect. My role is to create a warm and calm space where you can feel safe, supported, and able to share your concerns at your own pace.

In our first meeting, we’ll focus on getting to know each other and building trust. I’ll take time to understand your needs, expectations, and goals for therapy, so we can work together in a way that feels constructive and respectful.

My approach is person-centred and non-judgemental. I’ll help you unpick the issues in your relationship, explore your perspectives, and improve how you listen to one another. This process often eases resentment and helps you reconnect, either to rebuild your relationship or to move forward more amicably if separation feels right.

My aim is always to help you both communicate your needs more clearly, feel validated, and develop healthier ways of relating.

    Meet Claire

    Background & Experience

I hold a CPCAB Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and am a registered member of the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy). Since 2015, I have specialised in supporting individuals and couples across a diverse range of settings, including private practice, schools, and specialist drug and alcohol recovery services. My professional journey has also seen me collaborate closely with social services and provide outreach support for individuals managing complex mental health challenges such as psychosis.

Prior to my career in counselling, I served as a managing director for various organisations, leading large teams and developing company strategies. This background in leadership has sharpened my ability to offer structured guidance and support. I continue to engage in regular clinical supervision and continuous professional development (CPD) to ensure I provide the highest standard of evidence-based care to my clients.

    How I Can Help

I willl cultivate a safe, unbiased space where you can both articulate your feelings openly and feel profoundly heard and understood.

I'll guide you in uncovering and transforming the underlying behaviours and dynamics that are contributing to your relationship's challenges.

Together, we will build stronger emotional connections, helping you to truly empathise with and respond to each other's needs and perspectives.

I'll equip you with practical, evidence-based tools, informed by modalities like Emotionally Focused Therapy, to enhance communication, navigate conflict, and reignite intimacy.

We'll explore your unique path forward, whether that involves strengthening your bond through deeper understanding or navigating a respectful and amicable separation.
