More from Sharon

My name is Sharon Peach, and I am a professionally qualified therapist with over 10 years’ experience working with both couples and individuals.

I am an Accredited Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a Registered Member of the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).

I work from a comfortable, private therapy room in the heart of the Kent countryside in the village of Staplehurst.

My approach is warm, friendly, and non-judgemental. It is important to me that I create a safe space for you to explore your issues, so that together we can create positive change. I am an integrative therapist, which means I tailor my work to suit the unique needs of each client or couple.

When working with couples, I can facilitate those difficult conversations to help resolve conflict, strengthen connection, and support you in making healthier behavioural changes.

Psychosexual Issues

I am fully trained in psychosexual therapy and can help with a wide range of difficulties including:

  • Erectile dysfunction
  • Rapid or delayed ejaculation
  • Painful sex
  • Vaginismus
  • Low desire or arousal

As part of this work, I offer a full psychosexual assessment which explores past experiences, traumas, childhood messages about sex, kinks, and sexual preferences. I also have training in LGBTQ+ affirmative practice.

Qualifications

  • Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Diploma in Psychosexual and Relationship Therapy
  • Diploma in Person-Centred Therapeutic Counselling
  • Diploma in CBT
  • Professional Certificate in Couples Therapy (Transactional Analysis theory)

Background and Experience

My decision to train as a therapist was inspired by my own experience of how powerful counselling can be during a personal crisis.

Some years ago, my life went through an extremely turbulent period, with several major challenges happening in quick succession. I felt overwhelmed and in need of something steady to hold on to. Counselling became that anchor.

Therapy not only helped me cope at the time, but also gave me tools I still use today to navigate life’s ups and downs. I gained a much deeper understanding of myself, how my past shaped my ability to handle stress, resolve conflict, and relate to others.

This experience inspired me to offer the same support to others. I have now been in full-time private practice for over 10 years. Before that, I worked as a counsellor in a secondary school and a GP practice.
