Couple Counselling Canterbury (Chartham)
Hello, my name is Julie-Anne and I’m a fully qualified Psychodynamic Therapist. I hold a BA (Hons) in Integrative Counselling and have over 13 years’ experience working with both couples and individuals.
There are many reasons why people choose to start couple’s therapy. Some are finding it difficult to manage conflict, others feel they’ve grown apart and want to reconnect. Others want to work through an affair or gain clarity about whether to stay together or not.
No matter what the problem is, all couples and individuals are welcome. Regardless of age, sexual orientation or background. You will find me warm, engaging and non-judgemental from the start. My approach is always tailored to your unique situation.
Qualifications

Background & Experience
I began my career working for a charitable organisation supporting individuals, before moving into private practice. This now allows me to work with clients for as long or as briefly as they need.
Over the years, I’ve learned how important it is to see each person within a couple as a unique individual. In my work, I make sure both people feel heard and have the space to express their feelings and thoughts. This is at the heart of the couples counselling I’m privileged to offer.

How I Can Help You
I will help you voice your worries, fears and frustrations, so we can explore what you both want and need, without attributing blame.
You’ll be encouraged to really listen to one another, gaining a deeper understanding of each other’s perspective.
I’ll support you in learning practical tools to manage anger and conflict differently, while exploring where these patterns may come from.
During sessions with me, you’ll find a safe, respectful space where both of you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard.
Clients often tell me I have a calming presence, but I’m also honest and gently direct when needed, helping you see things from new angles so you can begin to move forward, whatever that may look like for you both.
